Homework ~ February 23-27

* Asterisk means HW passes cannot be used for these assignments.

Monday

1. Vocabulary/ Spelling: Complete Wordly Wise 18C: Applying Meaning. B. Create word webs for the four Wordly Wise 18 words (mischief, negotiate, obsolete, retain).

*2. Math: Complete Prime or Composite?

*3. Science: Read Plate Tectonics Theory and answer the questions.

4. Reading: Finish reading Bud, Not Buddy if you have not already done so. Continue to note examples of figurative language: similes, metaphors, onomatopoeia, hyperbole, idiom, personification, alliteration. (Be sure to keep track of your reading in your reading log.)

Tuesday

1. Vocabulary/ Spelling: Complete Wordly Wise 18B: Just the Right Word. B. Create word webs for the last four Wordly Wise 18 words (sensation, somber, subsequent, vow).

*2. Math: Complete Fractions worksheet.

*3. Science: Begin reading Plate Movement: In, Out, and Sideways and answering the questions.

4. Reading: Finish reading Bud, Not Buddy if you have not already done so. Write a two paragraph description of your favorite part of the book.

Wednesday

1. Vocabulary/ Spelling: Study for your vocabulary - spelling test by using syllabication to create 3 spelling pyramids for the last 8 WW18 words. Know definitions for all of this week’s words! Be sure to include all definitions for each word on your webs.

2. Math________________________________________________. B. Complete class work if necessary.

3. Language Arts: Complete pg. 41 in Language Arts Practice Book.

*4. Science: Complete reading Plate Movement: In, Out, and Sideways and answering the questions.

5. Reading: Finish reading Bud, Not Buddy if you have not already done so. Continue to note examples of figurative language: similes, metaphors, onomatopoeia, hyperbole, idiom, personification, alliteration. (Be sure to keep track of your reading in your reading log.)

Weekend:

CRCT TEST PREP: Log on to www.georgiaoas.org and take the Teacher Assigned Tests. (Assigned tests include Math, Reading, Writing Process, and Life Science.) You can also take the practice tests as well.


MATH: Complete classwork ~ Student Math Journal 2: page 252.

READING: Finish reading Bud, Not Buddy if you haven't already done so. 2). Answer Quiz Time (Section 3) questions 2, 3, 6, 8, 9, & 10.

LANGUAGE ARTS: Complete your persuasive essay.
