Today in History

Today is the anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s historic "I Have a Dream" speech. In a note of historical significance, it seems both fitting and just that Sen. Barak Obama -- the first African American to be nominated for president by a major political party ~ will be accepting the Democratic party's nomination on this anniversary.

While I am not necessarily endorsing one candidate over another, I am uplifted by the realization that this event brings our nation one step closer to seeing Dr. King's dream truly become a reality.
