My apologies for the tardiness of the homework packet and for not posting Monday’s Math homework on the blog.
A few quick notes:
Graded spelling and vocabulary tests went home on Monday, with information about test autopsies for improving grades. Many students are struggling with the Wordly Wise vocabulary tests, but these tests are similar to what they will see on the CRCT in April. Please remind the students that the best way to improve is to complete the Wordly Wise exercises assigned and STUDY the definitions and how the words are used in sentences.
Save the Date: Friday, December 12 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Imagine Mableton is pleased to be partnering with Ms. Binns (IIAM’s fantastic art instructor) and First ArtWorks, an Atlanta company, in hosting our first Art Show. With the First ArtWorks program, our cafeteria will transform into a gallery showcasing student work for one special night, and all students who completed their art assignments will have a framed masterpiece on display at the show. This is an event you don’t want to miss! (Additional information will be provided at a later date.)
Please be sure your student has turned in his or her book report (which was due on Monday). Each book report counts as a test/project grade in reading. As of this time (Monday night), it appears only half of the students have turned in their reports. Late work is accepted, although 5 points will be taken off the grade for the first day, and 10 points for each day thereafter.
The Classification of Living Things flipbooks are due Wednesday, Dec. 3 (as noted on the homework sheet). Again, this will be counted as a test/project grade in Science, so please remind students to get them turned in ~ preferably on time.
