Write definitions and sentences for the first three “5^th Grade No Excuses” words. (No Excuses words — area, week, & weak, catch, caught, against, figure.)

2. Math: Complete Math Boxes (5.1) 1 - 4.on pg. 123 of Student Math Journal 1. B. Complete class work if necessary.

3. Language Arts: Complete your letter to President Obama in your best handwriting.

*4. Social Studies: Complete Before You Read assignment for Summary: New Territories and then begin reading the article. B. Work on IB Inquiry Project. (Due Friday, Jan. 23).

5. Reading: Read for twenty minutes and complete Home Reading Log. (Next book report due Jan. 30.)

1. Vocabulary/ Spelling: Begin Wordly Wise 16B: Just the Right Word. B. Create word webs for the next three Wordly Wise 15 words (bungle, dominate, former). Be sure to include all definitions for each word on your webs. C. Write definitions and sentences for the next two No Excuses words (catch & caught).

3. Language Arts: Complete Action vs. Linking Verbs review.

Be sure to include all definitions for each word on your webs. C. Write definitions and sentences for the last two No Excuses words (against, figure). Your sentences should show that you understand the meaning of these words.
