Students will receive this week's homework packets today.

However, Take-home folders will not be sent home this week.

Dear Parents,

Sunday, April 26

Well, the students will have finished taking their final CRCT test by the time you see this. I know they’re all very happy that this round of tests is over. Thank you so much for helping prepare your students for these tests and getting them to school everyday. Hopefully, their scores will be as good as their behavior was during the tests.

Though the CRCTs are finished, students are still scheduled to take the Iowa Test of Basic Skills from May 13-19. (They were originally scheduled for May 6-12, but the testing dates were pushed back a week.) Imagine Schools requires students retake the ITBS again in the spring so that their progress over the school year can be measured.

One final note, Take-Home folders are not being sent home this week because there’s really nothing to send to you as we spent most of last week reviewing for the CRCTs. However, regular instruction resumes on Tuesday.

Working together for student success,

Mrs. Pede

Other dates to note:

Thursday, May 7 — Renaissance Festival Field Trip ($25 payment and permission slip must be turned in by this Thursday, April 30.)

Friday, May 22 — School closed (Unused snow day)

Monday, May 25 — Memorial Day holiday

Friday, June 12 — Last day of school

Tuesday, April 21, 2009

Dear Parents,

As you know, CRCT testing begins Tuesday, April 21. Because of the testing, there will be little to no homework assigned this week. Homework, if assigned, will consist of completing any work not finished in class.

The testing schedule is as follows:

Tuesday ~ Reading

Wednesday ~ Language Arts

Thursday ~ Math

Friday ~ Science

Monday (April 27) ~ Social Studies.

Testing is scheduled to begin around 8:45 a.m. and end around noon each day. It is of utmost importance for our students to be here ~ on time ~ for all tests. As noted in the Principal’s News & Views, students who arrive after testing begins will not be admitted to class until the testing session is over.

Take-home folders were sent home Monday. Please be sure to sign the test and the folder, and then return it before Friday.

Report Cards will be sent home this Friday, April 24.

Mrs. Pede
