Homework - Week of Nov. 3-7

Monday ~ Nov. 3
1. Vocabulary/ Spelling: Complete Wordly Wise 11A: Finding Meanings and Wordly Wise 11B: Just the Right Word. B. Write sentences using 5 of your spelling words in a way that show you understand the meanings of the words. Circle the subject & underline the predicate.
2. Math: Complete Reteach 3.8: Problem-Solving Decision: Explain Your Solution.
3. Language Arts: Begin Proofreading Makes Perfect. Proofread and edit the first paragraph.
4. Social Studies: Read The U.S. Constitution Changes with the Times. Highlight important information about the voting rights amendments.
5. Reading: Read for twenty minutes.

Tuesday - Nov. 4
1. Vocabulary/ Spelling: Complete Wordly Wise 11C: Applying Meanings and 11D: Word Study. B. Write sentences using the last 5 of your spelling words in a way that show you understand the meanings of the words. Circle the subject of the sentence and underline the predicate.
2. Math: Read the information and complete Congruent Shapes worksheet.
3. Language Arts: Continue Proofreading Makes Perfect. Rewrite the first paragraph correctly on a separate sheet of paper.
4. Social Studies: Watch some of tonight’s election coverage. Write a brief description of what broadcasters are predicting about the outcome of the presidential election and Georgia’s senatorial election.
5. Reading: Read for twenty minutes.

Wednesday ~ Nov. 5
1. Vocabulary/ Spelling: Read Wordly Wise 11E: Off You Go Into the Wild Blue Yonder and answer the questions. (Remember to write complete sentence answers and use one spelling word for each answer.) B. Write sentences using the last 5 of your spelling words in a way that show you understand the meanings of the words. Circle the subject of the sentence and underline the predicate.
2. Math: Complete Lines of Symmetry worksheet.
3. Language Arts: Continue Proofreading Makes Perfect. Proofread and edit the second paragraph.
4. Social Studies: Use the information from The U.S. Constitution Changes with the Times to begin creating a Voting Rights Amendments timeline. Be sure to include the name of the amendment (15th, 19th, etc.), the year it was ratified, and a brief description of the amendment. (Timelines may be typed or hand-written.)
5. Reading: Read for twenty minutes.

Thursday ~ Nov. 6
1. Vocabulary/ Spelling: Use syllabication to create 3 spelling pyramids for this week’s words and study for your vocabulary - spelling tests. (KNOW all the definitions!)
2. Math: Complete Student Resource Sheet 8 (Translations, Reflections, & Rotations).
3. Language Arts: Continue Proofreading Makes Perfect. Rewrite the second paragraph correctly on a separate sheet of paper. B. Complete final draft of your writing assignment, if necessary.
4. Social Studies: Complete the Voting Rights Amendments timeline.
5. Reading: Write a 1-2 paragraph summary describing what you’ve been reading during your home reading times and a 1-2 paragraph response to your reading. (For example: What did you think about the text you’re reading? or How did it make you feel? Can you make any connections between what you read and your life to another book, movie, or TV show, or to anything else you’re familiar with?) You should include the title and author of your text, what the book, article, etc. is about, and some specifics about what you read this week.
